"Right before I signed up with Sean for personal training and coaching I hit rock bottom with my food and health. I had just moved back in with my parents and took on a new job, two huge life changes that left me isolated from my friends. I turned to food as a comfort and a source of instant joy. I know what it's like to feel stuck, hopeless, and like there’s no way out. For years, I lived that life. I grew up playing baseball every single day, but after an injury ended my sports career, my health and self-worth slowly unraveled. At first, I didn’t think much of it—partying, eating whatever I wanted, and ignoring my mental health. But as the weight piled on, so did the feelings of self-doubt and shame. I hit 220 pounds at my heaviest, completely out of shape and miserable, convinced that I wasn’t worth being fit or happy.
I tried to change, but I didn’t know where to start. I thought I could outwork my diet in the gym, so I pushed myself to extremes: 5 a.m. workouts, bland, boring meals, and juice cleanses that left me lightheaded and exhausted.
